Afternoons at The Children's House

Children who stay in the afternoons will enjoy plenty of free time to choose from a smorgasbord of activities including Della Terra, the bouldering wall, art room, soccer field, basketball court, reading under the apple tree, playing chess, or just spending time with their friends.

DELLA TERRA

The Children’s House Della Terra program is offered throughout the summer for children who wish to experience hands-on gardening.

Della Terra is a Children's House initiative encouraging kids to grow great food. Under the supervision of Master Gardener and Della Terra Program Director Cymbre Foster, children dig, plant, hoe, propagate, compost, and experiment in the gardens on our campus. The children not only learn the art and science of growing, but learn the importance of fresh food as a healthy alternative to packaged and fast foods. Produce from the gardens is incorporated in the school snacks.

Thanks to the generous support of the Allen Foundation for this program.
