Heart disease ranks as this nation's No. 1 killer; stroke is No. 3 and a leading cause of serious disability. Every year, about 910,000 Americans die from cardiovascular diseases and stroke. That's about 36 percent of all deaths.
The Jump Rope for Heart event on Tuesday was a huge sucess. All students participated and so far 65 of the 91 eligible students donated money to the heart association.
