Programs are full for the summer.

Summer Primary (3-5 year olds)

(Children who have finished kindergarten should enroll in the summer elementary Trailblazers program.)

Summer at The Children’s House is the perfect blend of our prepared Montessori environments and a distinctive flavor of summer fun. Campers enjoy a variety of engaging activities within the familiar Montessori environment and curriculum.

All Year Montessori Classroom, guide Julie Shearer

A minimum of seven weeks is required for enrollment in this classroom. Children who are with Julie during the school year typically stay in this classroom for the summer.

Summer Primary Classroom, guide Amy Routzahn

Flexible scheduling is available in this room including weekly options. Children from our three other school year primary classes unite in this classroom during the summer. TCH alumni and children from the greater community are also accepted based on availability.

Weekly highlights include:

  • Moomer’s Monday and Field Day every Monday afternoon! (Moomer’s ice cream party and field games in the courtyard for everyone.)
  • NEW this summer!  Balance Bike Program every Monday morning (We provide the bikes and helmets or you may bring your own balance bike from home.)
  • Yoga with Amy Routzahn, certified children's yoga instructor
  • Splash days including sprinkler fun
  • Cooking
  • Crafts
  • Gardening
  • Bike parade during July 4th week

Children may enroll from one to ten weeks. A 10% discount is applied for schedules including seven or more weeks. Enrollment preference is given to current TCH students until March 15th and TCH alumni from March 15th - April 1st. After April 1st, registration is open to non-TCH families.  

Weekly Session Rates for Primary Classrooms

3 mornings 8:30-12:30 $142/week 
3, 3/4 days 8:30-3:30      $208/week
4 mornings 8:30-12:30 $167/week
4, 3/4 days 8:30-3:30 $242/week
5 mornings  8:30-12:30 $188/week
5, 3/4 days 8:30-3:30 $273/week
  • Requests for prearranged childcare before 8:30 and after 3:30 should be noted in the comments section of the form below. Prearranged childcare noted at registration is included in camp fees with a discount applied. Contact the summer admissions office for specific rates.
  • Add-on childcare is available at $8.00/hour.
  • A 10% discount is applied to schedules of 7 or more weeks.

Billing Information

A non-refundable deposit of $100.00 is due upon registration and will be deducted from the total summer tuition. (Deposit is not required for students with year-round tuition contracts.)

Payments may be made in one of two ways:
1. Full payment by May 10th.
2. Half payment by May 10th and the remaining balance by June 10th
The tuition for enrollment after June 10th must be paid in full before the students attends the first class.

A charge of $20.00 is assessed for all checks returned because of insufficient funds. A late pick-up charge of $15.00 is charged for every 15 minutes (or increments thereof) a child is at school after closing time (5:30 p.m.).

Students may not attend the summer program if the payments are not made by the due dates.

Cancellations and Schedule Changes
All summer tuition except the $100.00 deposit will be refunded if enrollment is cancelled or modified in writing by June 1st. Neither the deposit nor the tuition will be refunded for cancellations after June 1st. Schedule changes will be accommodated based on class availability.

Additional Childcare (available for all students enrolled in summer programs)
Childcare is available before and after summer classes as space permits. Arrangements may be made by contacting the school office. The school opens at 7:30 a.m. and closes at 5:30 p.m.

Childcare used in addition to the hours specified on the summer confirmation form will be billed separately at $7.50/hour.

Once your registration has been received, we will send you a confirmation of your schedule, a classroom supply list, and health and emergency forms that need to be completed and returned to the business office.
