Primary Summer Program

Summer Primary (3-5 year olds*)

*Children who have finished kindergarten should enroll in the summer elementary Trailblazers program.

Summer at The Children’s House is the perfect blend of our prepared Montessori environments and a distinctive flavor of summer fun. Campers enjoy a variety of engaging activities within the familiar Montessori environment and curriculum. Several weeks will include special guests including story tellers and musicians!

Children from our four school year classrooms unite in two primary classrooms for the summer. TCH alumni and children from the greater community are also accepted based on availability.

Weekly highlights include:

  • Moomer’s Monday and Field Day every Monday afternoon! (Moomer’s ice cream party and field games in the courtyard for everyone.)
  • Back this summer, Balance Bike Program every Monday morning! We provide the bikes and helmets (you may bring your own balance bike or helmet from home).
  • Tuesday mornings light up with visits from story tellers, musicians and other amazing guests.
  • Splash days every Thursday (weather permitting) including sprinkler fun.
  • Cooking
  • Crafts
  • Gardening
  • Bike parade during July 4th week

Children may enroll from one to ten weeks. A 10% discount is applied for a full ten week schedule. Enrollment preference is given to current TCH students through March 1st and TCH alumni from March 2nd - March 15th. After March 15th, registration is open to non-TCH families.

  • Requests for prearranged childcare before 8:30 and after 3:30 should be noted in the comments section of the form below. Prearranged childcare noted at registration is included in camp fees. Contact the summer admissions office for specific rates.
  • Add-on childcare is available at $8.50/hour.
  • A 10% discount is applied to a full 10 week schedule.

Billing Information

  • DEPOSIT: A $100 non-refundable deposit is due for each camper at the time of registration. 
  • CONFIRMATION: Once your registration has been received, we will send you a confirmation for your schedule, a supply list, and health and emergency forms that need to be completed and returned to the business office. Campers who also attend during the school year should update their student forms online (SFO) through Children’s House online.
  • CANCELLATIONS AND SCHEDULE CHANGES:  All summer tuition except the $100 deposit will be refunded if enrollment is cancelled or modified in writing by June 1st. Neither the deposit nor the tuition will be refunded for cancellations after June 1st. Schedule changes will be accommodated based on class availability.
  • LATE PAYMENT CHARGE: A late charge of $15 per month is assessed when the balance due is $25 or more and payment has not been received by the 10th of the month it is due.
  • RETURNED CHECK CHARGE:  A charge of $20 is assessed for all checks or EFTs returned because of insufficient funds or invalid account numbers.
  • LATE PICK-UP CHARGE A fee of $20 is charged for every 15 minutes (or increments there of) a child is at school after closing time (5:30 pm).
  • A LA CARTE CHILDCARE:  Childcare is available before and after summer classes as space permits. Arrangements may be made online using https://childrenshouse.boonli.com/login. Directions for using this system will be included in your welcome packet. The school opens at 7:30am and closes at 5:30pm. Childcare used in addition to the hours specified on the summer confirmation form will be billed at $8.50/hour.
  • SUMMER SESSION CALENDAR: June 17 to August 22, 2019 The school is closed on July 4th and July 5th for Independence Day
