SwingShift and the Stars
has changed the way non-profit organizations in Traverse City are fundraising. By partnering with local organizations, SwingShift provides a lucrative fundraising opportunity. Members of each non-profit community have the opportunity to come together to support their organization's dancer, help to raise money for their organization, and at the same time, enjoy an evening of outstanding entertainment!

Every attendee who purchases a ticket, will receive an envelope when they walk through the door and are asked to make a donation (which is also a vote!) to the evening's performer of choice. 100% of those donations, along with a majority of the ticket price will go directly back to The Children's House.

Both events will be held at the Traverse City Opera House located right on Front Street so make a night of it! Invite friends, business associates and anyone else who will help you support The Children's House - the non-profit that is near and dear to you!

Is the attire for SwingShift and the Stars formal?

These events are not black tie. We do suggesting dressing semi-formal (fun and sparkly) for the September 21st event. The November 16th lip-syncing event is a country-western theme...do with that what you want, but we suggest boots and a hat!

Is dinner provided?

Dinner is not provided and outside food is not permitted. Grab your group and head to one of the great restaurants downtown before you arrive. A cash bar is available at the events.

What happens the night of the event?

The doors will open at 6:30pm. Group dance lessons will begin at 6:45 for anyone interested. The main event will begin promptly at 7:15 when the band takes the stage. A short video on each non-profit will be shown, followed by the organization's performer going on stage. Votes and donations will be tallied and announce prior to the conclusion of the evening. Don't forget to vote for Steve!!

Is this a child-friend event?

The event is certainly appropriate for children but is aimed toward an adult audience. Keep in mind, that this is a competition, so if children do attend, their parents should be prepared to make sure that an envelope gets turned in with a donation so that it may be recognized as a vote.
