Technically Speaking - March 14, 5:00-6:30 pm

Digital technology and its influence on the lives of children have been a discussion among industry leaders and thinkers for many years, most notably the past 12 years with the introduction of the Apple iPhone. Over a decade later parents continue to question how to adequately frame and balance tech's gravitational pull on our children's time, attention, and curiosity. Digital devices bring many important conveniences and benefits to our lives and will only become more ubiquitous in the future. So how do we best prepare our children for thoughtful use of technology while continuing to keep a clear vision of their critical developmental needs? One size does not fit all and the answer is dependent on the child's age, stage of development, and his/her own unique personality and temperament. Please join this facilitated parent roundtable discussion where we will focus on the specific issues facing tweens and teens as it relates to digital technology. Parents of Upper Elementary and Junior High are encouraged to attend.

Spring Break Childcare

2019 Spring Break is March 25th – 29th. Childcare is offered all week for your children according to their contracted schedules at no extra cost. Reservations for spring break care must be completed by March 8th so we can arrange for adequate staffing. Please indicate if you plan to use fewer days than what is indicated in your contract. Early Care and Friend's Club for primary and elementary may be ordered as usual through boonli. Please note that we will not be able to take reservations after March 8th. Questions regarding spring break care should be directed to Colleen Christensen. Use this link to register.

Inclement Weather Policy

TCH Administration determines school delays and closings with the assistance of local law enforcement officer Tom Flitton, and TCH outdoor services provider, Chris Danbrook. Parents will receive an email by 7:00 a.m. (or earlier if possible) notifying them of the delay or closure. The information will also be posted on the school’s website 7:00 a.m. Please note that TCH will not automatically follow the closure policies of TCAPS and NMC as it has in the past.
This year, in addition to an email alerting you about school closings and delays, we will be adding notifications via Remind. Simply download the remind app to your mobile device and set up an account. Then, Text @hg6c3f2 to the number 81010. You will receive a welcome text from Remind. If you have any trouble with 81010, you can try texting @hg6c3f2 to (231) 638-5530. The class is titled TCH Parent Community.
If you have questions about the Remind app, let us know and we will do our best to help you.
