Holiday, Grand Traverse Ski Club at Hickory Hills, and VASA Ski Club. Visit our extracurricular webpage to learn more.
The Crystal Mountain School Ski Program is available for children ages 7 and up. Sign up November 1 - 24. For more information and to sign up, click here.

Learning to Embrace the Struggle
By Jenny Lamble
Children naturally want to do things for themselves. Regardless of their age, we have all seen this drive for independence emerge in our children and students. At times, it can feel more...

Parent Meeting: COVID-19 protocol reminders for a healthy holiday season
Thursday, November 12 at 8 p.m. OR Friday, November 13 at 9 a.m.
The purpose of this meeting is to provide a clear outline for our COVID-19 school community expectations, answer parent questions, and provide guidance for a safe and healthy holiday season. By offering two meeting dates, we expect 100% participation. To submit a question, please complete this Google form

Fall Work Bee
Typically at this time of year, we invite adults to work with students to clean up the campus grounds on a specific day. This year, you are invited to help out independently. Please see this sign-up sheet for a list of jobs to choose from. Please sign up by adding your name,  and phone number. Steve Maas or DiAnn Service will reach out to you to confirm a time and explain the project. Thank you for your time and energy to help keep our campus beautiful!

MMUN 6th Year Returnable Can Drive
Hello Children's House families,
The 2020-21 6th graders would like to inform you all that we will be raising money for all of our MMUN (Montessori Model United Nations) costs by means of a can drive. The can drive will be open every Friday at morning and afternoon carline, unless noted otherwise on the carline advertisement sign. We will usually  be collecting cans on Fridays, but the day will vary throughout the year. We will be accepting returnable, clean, and empty aluminum, plastic, and glass beverage bottles and cans.

Thank you so much for supporting our MMUN project this year,
-The 6th graders of 2020-21

Soup for Dinner - place order by Sunday
Many parents have lamented not being able to eat the amazing school food that is served at the annual Fall Harvest Festival. Lament no more! Now you can bring home soup and bread made fresh at school every Friday. Each order costs $30 and includes 40 ounces of soup and four pieces of slipper bread or other side served that day. For details and to sign up, click here.

Horizon Books Days - Nov. 9 - 14
Horizon Books  is collaborating with TCH to host our annual book sale. This is an opportunity to enrich your child's classroom library. You may purchase books that have been pre-selected by your child’s guide. (Look for the green baskets at the back of the store.) Be sure to complete a nameplate for each book you purchase and they will be delivered to your child's classroom for all of the children to enjoy. Or, you may purchase a gift certificate for your classroom over the phone rather than selecting specific books. A percentage of all sales throughout the week will benefit The Children's House - even gift certificates! Thanks for stopping by or calling Horizon Books, Monday through Saturday, November 9 - 14.

Shop Your Community Days - Nov. 12 - 14
Support The Children’s House and our Traverse City downtown merchants during Shop Your Community Days, November 12-14. Three days allows shoppers to spread out and stay safe. We are one of only 30 nonprofits invited to participate this year. Even during difficult times, merchants will be donating 5% of every sale - be sure to select The Children’s House at checkout.

Parent Business Directory
Did you know there is a directory of TCH family-owned businesses in the Parent Portal? If you own a business and are not listed, please let us know by completing this Google form.  With the harsh economic impact of COVID-19, it is more important than ever to support TCH family-owned businesses.
