Season: September 19 through October 23
Practices: at TCH on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:45
Games: Mondays and Wednesdays after 5:00 p.m.
Registration: Register on the LEAP website and select the “out of district” option
Cost: $52. - Girls and Boys 3rd-6th Grade Cross Country:
Season: September 4 through October 24
Practices: September 4, at school from 3:30 to 4:45. Practices will continue on Mondays and Wednesdays at Silver Lake Park from 3:40 to 5:00 through October 24.
Meets: Thursdays at various schools

Practices: Practices will be after school on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 3:40-5:00/5:15. We will be moving to different locations.
Meets: Mostly on Saturdays. Confirmed meet dates are 9/19, 9/28, 10/19, more info to come

What better way to show your school spirit than to wear it! Simply browse our online catalog and place your order with Threads. When your order is ready (about three weeks after the deadline), we will send it home with your child.
Children’s House Parent Association (CHiPA) meeting: Sept. 11 at 8:30 a.m.
CHiPA welcomes all parents to be involved in the life of our school. While room parents are the core members of CHiPA, all parents are invited to participate by attending meetings, volunteering at school events, and being an ambassador for our school in the greater community. Meetings for the 2019-2020 school year will be at 8:30 a.m. in the community room on: Sep 11, Oct 3, Nov 6, Dec 4, Jan 8, Feb 5, March 4, April 8, and May 6.
2020 Gala meeting: Sept. 16 at 8:30 a.m.

Planning has begun for this year’s “party of the year”! To help raise over $100,000 for our school, please plan to attend this meeting. While much of the heavy lifting is done by just a few volunteer parents, you can help distribute the weight of the work by stepping up! Monthly meetings take place in the community room.
Family Bike Ride with Norte: Sept. 16 from 5 - 7 p.m.
Join us for a fun school-wide family social event. Bring bikes, scooters, balance bikes, and helmets and meet at Norte’s “Wheelhouse” at the Civic Center. Then at 5:30 p.m. Steve Maas, TCH Physical Education Specialist, and Patrick Cotant, TCH parent, will lead rides around the Civic Center and beyond. Let us know if we should expect you by filling out this simple form.
21st Year - Fall Harvest Festival Celebration!!
On Sunday, October 6th from 12pm-2:30 pm we will be having a wonderful TCH community event on our beautiful campus! The feast and festival are planned by our own Children's House students, but we need YOU also! Please help by either volunteering at the festival (face painting, craft monitoring, set-up, etc.) or donating pumpkins for the children to decorate and take home. We need your help!! Please contact Carrine Pomaranski (cmmpomaranski@gmail.com or 248-921-0985) to sign up.
Also, please RSVP for the event via email to learn@traversechildrenshouse.org or call 231-929-9325 by, Monday, September 30th at 5pm. We need to know how many people are coming so we can prepare the proper amount of food. Donations will be accepted at the door.

Pest Management
As part of the Montessori Children's House pest management system, it may be necessary to occasionally apply a pesticide. You have the right to be informed prior to any pesticide application made to the school grounds and buildings. Advance notice of applications will be posted at the entrance to the school and posted on the school's web site. You are also entitled to receive notification by first-class mail three days prior to the application. Please use this link for more information about this process.
