Primary preschool summer program

Summer Primary (3-6 year olds*)

*Children who have finished Kindergarten should enroll in the summer Elementary program.

Summer at The Children’s House is the perfect blend of our prepared Montessori environments and a distinctive flavor of summer fun. Campers enjoy a variety of engaging activities within the familiar Montessori environment and curriculum. Some weeks will include special guests including storytellers and musicians!

Weekly Highlights Include:

  • Balance Bike Program every Monday morning! We provide the bikes and helmets (you may bring your own balance bike or helmet from home).
  • Splash days every Thursday (weather permitting) including sprinkler fun.
  • Cooking
  • Crafts
  • Gardening
  • Bike parade on June 30th to send us off for Fourth of July break. 
  • Pizza Wednesday - each Wednesday of Summer, we will order cheese pizza for all the primary and elementary children. To order, please use the Boonli lunch ordering system, instructions will be included in your welcome packet. 

The Summer Primary program requires a 7-week minimum sign-up and is first offered to Children’s House students who are enrolled for Fall 2023. Students who are not enrolled for Fall 2023 may check on availability in early April by contacting Kim Gallagher.

    • Early care is available from 8:00 AM to 8:30 AM and should be selected on your registration form. There is no aftercare this summer, the school is open from 8 AM to 4 PM. Morning carline will run from 8:20-8:40 AM and afternoon carline will be from 3:40 to 3:55 PM. 
    • Al-a-carte early care may be available by contacting Kim Gallagher or Marty Miklos. 
    • This program is a 9-week program. The school will be closed for a mid-Summer break from July 3-7, 2023

    Billing Information

    • DEPOSIT: A $100 deposit is due for each camper at the time of registration. Payment of this deposit does not guarantee your spot.  
    • CONFIRMATION: Once your registration has been received, we will send you a confirmation for your schedule, a supply list, and health and emergency forms that need to be completed and returned to the Admissions Office.
    • CANCELATIONS AND SCHEDULE CHANGES:  All summer tuition will be refunded if enrollment is canceled or modified in writing by May 15, 2023. Neither the deposit nor the tuition will be refunded for cancelations after May 15. Schedule changes will be accommodated based on class availability.
    • LATE PAYMENT CHARGE: A late charge of $15 per month is assessed when the balance due is $25 or more and payment has not been received by the 11th of the month it is due.
    • RETURNED CHECK CHARGE:  A charge of $20 is assessed for all checks or EFTs returned because of insufficient funds or invalid account numbers.
    • LATE PICK-UP CHARGE: A fee of $25 is charged if your child is picked up after our 4 PM close time, (with a grace period of 5 minutes).
    • A LA CARTE CHILDCARE:  Is not available.
    • SUMMER SESSION CALENDAR: June 19 to August 24th, 2023. The school is closed July 3-7 in celebration of Fourth of July.
