Time to Order Lunch
November Lunch Menu is now available, view menu here

Sock Drive, Nov 7- 18
CHiPA is proudly collaborating with the Boots for Kids organization to ensure every child in the region has warm winter gear. This year, we have committed to support this effort by donating thick cotton crew socks for infants (5-13 shoe size) and youth (1-7 shoe size). Your child may deliver socks to the basket at the Front Desk, Nov. 7 - 18.

Updated Extracurricular Page
Find all winter sports and activities on our updated Extracurriculars page. Please reach out to Julie Boss if you are interested in coaching or helping.

The Crystal Mountain School Ski Program is available for children ages 7 and up. Sign up through November 23. For more information and to sign up, click here.

Horizon Books Day, November 12
Horizon Books will host our annual book fair AND give 10% of all sales that day directly to The Children’s House - even when you purchase gift certificates! This annual book sale helps build our school library and collection of books in each classroom.

Shop Your Community Day, November 12
Support The Children’s House on Saturday, November 12 just by shopping in Downtown TC! For every purchase you make at participating stores, 15% of the sale will be donated to the non-profit of your choice - please select The Children’s House when you check-out! We were selected as one of the 30 non-profits because we consistently have one of the highest donation amounts at the end of the day. Let’s keep this trend going! Learn more here.

Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day, November 14
"Six-year-old Ruby Bridges stepped into the history books in 1960 when she integrated William Frantz Elementary School in New Orleans becoming a national icon for the civil rights movement. Today her story continues to inspire the next generation of leaders to end racism together one step at a time."
- Ruby Bridges Foundation

On Monday, November 14, we want to celebrate Ruby Bridges because she changed the world and we can too. The children from Karin's Upper Elementary class will visit each classroom in teams of two to share this idea. Each class will choose to do a project to celebrate her brave action of walking to school and making the world a better place. This year-long project will honor her and share her message of fighting racism and preventing bullying.  - Mark, Fletcher and Claire

BATA now stops in Slabtown
An exciting development in the BATA bus plan, the afternoon BATA bus now makes an additional stop at the corner of Front and Cedar. The bus will still leave TCH at 3:45 and arrive at the Hall street station at 4, so the stop in SlabTown happens between 3:50 and 3:55. We hope to add a morning pick-up in the same location soon!

Compass Junior High request for house plants and art supplies
We have a lot of natural light at our Park Street Campus and we would like to add some greenery to our space. If you have any large (2 to 6-feet tall) healthy houseplants (or nice pots to house them in) that are outstaying their welcome in your home, we would be happy to adopt them. While we have a budget for consumable art supplies, in the interest of supporting our Green School status we wanted to see if anyone has tools and materials they are no longer using and would like to give to the Junior High art room. Please see our art room wish list. Thank you!

The Sensitive Periods
By Alison Breithaupt
Dr. Maria Montessori observed that children develop at their own pace and according to a series of highly predictable transitory sensitive periods. At each period they are susceptible to aspects of Continue Reading...
