Classroom Project Fair and Documentary Screening, Wednesday, April 26, 3:00-5:00 p.m.
On November 14, elementary learners celebrated their first ever Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day. On this day they talked about Ruby’s bravery and reflected on the impact one person can have to improve the world. Inspired by her actions, each class followed their interests and created a plan to make the world a better place in their own way. To celebrate the children’s generosity of spirit and share in their knowledge, please join us in the Barn on Wednesday, April 26, from 3:00-3:30. Stay to be further inspired by the uplifting documentary 2040, a look at what the world could be like if we committed ourselves to existing sustainable practices. (The documentary will start at about 3:30 p.m. and runs 92 minutes.)
Updated! Community Bulletin
We have added a new page to our website for student and parent messages! The Community Bulletin will host messages such as service projects, community activities and opportunities. The Waypoints will continue to be your main point of reference for all school-organized and related activities, but we’ve noticed a need for a space to promote student and parent voices as well. Visit the Community Bulletin page to read new students messages about Meatless Monday, AC PAWS Can Drive, Food Drive for Father Fred and Carpooling to Save the Planet.
Grandparents & Special Friends Day
Mark your calendars! On May 26, we will be hosting our 19th annual Grandparents and Special Friends Day on our main campus. If you would like to have your child's grandparents or special friends invited to attend, login to Family Access in the parent portal and then click on the grandparents tab to update names and addresses. Be sure to check the box that indicates that you would like them to be invited to Grandparent’s Day. We will not send an invitation if this box is not checked. Invitations will be mailed in early May, so please complete this information by April 23. If you have questions, please contact Marty Miklos at martin@traversechildrenshouse.org.
Class Pictures, May 1, 2, and 4
Arielle will be taking our annual class photos on Tuesday, May 2. Karin's class will be photographed Monday, May 1 and Junior High on Thursday, May 4. Each year, we frame and hang these photos in the administrative hallway as a snapshot of our school body. Children love to see their friends in these photos and our graduates come back to find themselves on the wall. Please make sure your child is here to be a part of this important piece of our school history. Retakes will be on May 16, if necessary.
