Updated! CHiPA Community Service TART Trail Clean Up, 10:00 a.m. to Noon
All families are invited to join CHiPA on Saturday, April 29 to do some spring cleaning along the TART trail. Our group will meet at the Traverse City Area Public Library on Woodmere Avenue and walk along the TART Trail towards Garfield Ave, picking up trash alongside the trail. Bring water and wear gloves and your Children’s House spirit wear. Sign up here!
New! Bright Futures Gala Recap
Our Bright Futures Gala was an awesome success! Thank you to everyone who attended in support of our school community. Pledges made during the event totaled over $80,000! We’ve updated our gala webpage with photos from the evening and links to watch the video about our school and the slideshow featuring all of the children.
We are selling our “Wings of Independence” prints and the Nido and YCC board books online this week only. You can preorder these items on our event website through Sunday, April 30.

Updated! Class Pictures, Wednesday, May 3, see schedule
Arielle will be taking our annual class photos on Wednesday, May 3. Junior High class photo will be taken on Thursday, May 4. Each year, we frame and hang these photos in the administrative hallway as a snapshot of our school body. Children love to see their friends in these photos and our graduates come back to find themselves on the wall. Please make sure your child is here to be a part of this important piece of our school history. Retakes will be on May 16, as necessary.
Grounds Work Bee, May 19
Many hands make light work! You can help keep our campus beautiful by signing up now and showing up on May 19. We need help with the following: remove vines, add limbs and logs to the playground, spread wood chips, remove autumn olive and mulberry, and more!
Grandparents & Special Friends Day
On May 26, we will be hosting our 19th annual Grandparents and Special Friends Day on our main campus. This is a heartwarming day when grandparents and special friends come to TCH to spend time in the classrooms. Visitors are treated to a musical performance, campus tours and time spent in the classroom with their grandchildren. This is one of the best “feel good” events of the year! Volunteers are needed, sign up today!
Sports & Extracurriculars
The Bayshore Kid's Marathon is for boys and girls in grades K-5, and includes an official mileage log to track progress in completing 26.2 miles by the event day on May 27th @ 1:30pm (when we all finish the last 1.2 miles together at the same finish line as all the other Bayshore Events!) Log a mile a day starting May 2nd and then run the final mile at the event. The TCH Track and Field team will be promoting and attending this fun and exciting community event.
